Micron is accelerating its U.S. fab and technology investments, increasing its planned spend to more than $250 billion through 2035, driven by surging demand for memory in the AI era.
Construction is underway on the first Idaho fab, expecting DRAM output in 2027
Micron’s domestic manufacturing investments will help ensure U.S. leadership in memory development and manufacturing, underpinning a national supply chain and R&D ecosystem.
These plans are expected to create over 17,000 new jobs in Idaho - where Micron was founded in 1978, and continues to be globally headquartered. The co-location of these two Idaho fabs with Micron’s Idaho R&D operations will drive economies of scale and faster time to market for leading-edge products, including High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), which is essential to the AI market.
Choosing an employer is about more than just a job. It’s about finding a place where your whole family can thrive. That’s why we’ve invested in the Micron Boise Early Learning Center, operated by the Treasure Valley YMCA, and located just across from our corporate headquarters. The center offers high-quality childcare with a strong emphasis on STEM-based learning.
