Micron is offering Hour of Code for students online!

Explore coding and computer science careers in a 90-minute session led by Micron Team Members. Sessions are divided by grade level, and students will be grouped according to skill level, from beginner to experienced coder.

Dates & Times:

Monday, December 7th:

  • 10:00 am MST – 4th, 5th, 6th grades
  • 1:30 pm MST – 6th, 7th, 8th grades

Wednesday, December 9th:

  • 10:00 am MST – 4th, 5th, 6th grades

Semiconductor Industry Career Awareness Presentations

Our Team Members can provide live (or recorded) virtual classroom presentations describing their education and career pathways and the work they do as high-tech professionals in the Semiconductor industry. Career presenters include engineers, chemists, physicists, technical writers, technicians and math specialists. Presentations can be career-specific or general engineering career awareness. Schools & Educators can request a Career Awareness presentation through the K-12 Activity Request Form.

Careers in a High Tech World Job Shadow Event

Micron will offer monthly virtual job shadow experiences for 9th – 12th grade students. Students will spend three hours learning about the semiconductor industry, interacting with employees in certain careers and finding out what it takes to pursue that career! Each month there will be different Job shadow careers to choose from. When you sign up you will receive additional information to attend the event, including your virtual link.

Women in Technical Careers Speaker Panel

Women in Technical Careers (WITC) brings casual, interactive and informative career discussions to female students, grades 9 – 12. Career presenters include women in the following careers: engineers, chemists, physicists, technical writers, IT specialists, technical marketing technicians and math specialists.

Girls Going Tech Event

For the 2020-21 schoolyear, GGT will be an interactive online event for 8th-grade girls. The students explore STEM concepts through fun, hands-on activities and learn about STEM careers directly from women who work in those fields at Micron. Female students with online access are welcome to attend, contact Micron K-12 Programs for more information.

Chip Camp - live

Location: Boise, Idaho

Note that the dates for our in-person camp are pending the ability to host an in-person camp.

Micron engineers lead hands-on science activities related to semiconductor manufacturing in a three-day summer camp experience for students who have completed seventh or eighth grade.

The registration form for Chip Camp is made available on the Chip Camp website on the 2nd Monday in April of every year. Learn more about Chip Camp at the Chip Camp website.

2021 Chip Camp dates (each session is Tuesday – Thursday):

  • June 22-24

Micron Tech Camp – an Online Experience

Dates for our Virtual Tech Camp have not yet been set

In Micron’s virtual Tech Camp, Micron engineers lead hands-on science activities related to semiconductor manufacturing in a three-day, three hours per day event. This experience is for students in seventh or eighth grade.

Tech Campers will receive a kit containing all the materials needed for the hands-on activities. The camp will be provided using the Zoom platform; students will need to have access to a laptop or chrome-book device and reliable internet connection.
