Environmental Excellence Gold Award – Industrial Waste and Pretreatment
The Industrial Waste and Pretreatment Committee of the Virginia Water Environment Association selected Micron Technology Virginia as the Environmental Excellence Award Program’s Gold Award Winner. The award was in recognition of Micron Technology Virginia’s demonstrated dedication to pollution prevention, waste elimination or reduction and two to four years of perfect compliance with their pretreatment permit conditions.

2013

Governor's Environmental Excellence Award for Best Environmental Program for a Large Manufacturer in Virginia
Micron's Virginia site was honored at the silver medal award for its successful implementation of an environmental management system, which ensures that best management practices and innovative technologies are deployed throughout the facility.

2008

EPA Performance Track
Micron gained membership into the National Environmental Performance Track Program for its exceptional commitment to environmental stewardship, continuous improvement, and a sustained record of compliance with environmental laws. The EPA Performance Track recognizes environmental excellence by encouraging companies, corporations and small businesses to go above and beyond the legal requirements set forth by the federal and local governments. Going beyond the minimum requirements follows Micron’s global environmental policy, which calls on the Company to implement additional programs where appropriate to provide greater environmental protection while demonstrating the responsibility all team members feel toward our local and global communities.

EPA Wastewise Program
Micron became a member of the EPA Wastewise Program which recognizes companies for their commitment in preventing waste, improving recycling efforts, conserving energy, and reducing GHG emissions.

Micron’s Virginia site is admitted into the highest level of this formal, statutory recognition program created by the Virginia legislature and administered by the Department of Environmental Quality to encourage and recognize superior performance through environmental management systems and pollution prevention.

2005

Governor’s Environmental Excellence Award for Best Environmental Program for a Large Manufacturer in Virginia
Micron’s Virginia site is a gold prize winner in the 10th anniversary of this award. Manufacturers earn this award by excelling in environmental management and achieving recognition that goes beyond compliance toward environmental stewardship.
