The program involves generating participation in alternate transit means throughout the month of May. Micron received the Platinum Award due to the dedication to sustainable transportation. This is done through team members’ willingness to adopt alternate means throughout the year or expressively during the month of May.

2011 Building Excellence Award
Micron received this award from the City of Boise for a chilled water economizer, making it the best green commercial building project category winner. The economizer saves an estimated 10 million kWh of energy annually which equates to enough power to serve approximately 800 households per year.

2010 Boise Certificate of Environmental Achievement Award
Micron's Boise site received a Certificate of Environmental Achievement for recycling approximately 10,578 pounds of integrated circuit (IC) trays in 2009. R. Mitchel, Inc., a world leader in integrated circuit tray recycling, awarded Micron with this honor.
Micron Recognized for Energy-Efficiency Improvements
Idaho power recognized Micron as one of their top 2009 energy efficiency program participants for custom efficiency improvements at its Boise campus, with a recorded yearly savings of 3,766,096 kWh/year or enough to power about 290 homes for a year.

Micron's Boise site received a Certificate of Environmental Achievement for recycling approximately 18,000 pounds of integrated circuit (IC) trays in 2008. R. Mitchel, Inc., a world leader in integrated circuit tray recycling, awarded Micron with this honor.
Micron Ranked #1 in Idaho Energy Conservation
Idaho Power recognized Micron as the top company in their 2008 energy efficiency program after our facilities recorded a yearly savings of 7,469,804 kWh through easy upgrades, building efficiency improvements, and a custom efficiency program. Micron’s savings—enough to power about 570 homes for a year—made up about 45% of the total savings for the top 10 program participants.
Boise EnviroGuard Award
This award recognizes businesses that demonstrate outstanding efforts in environmental stewardship and pollution prevention, including water quality and conservation, source reduction, and recycling.
2008
Environment at Work Award
Crucial Technology was recognized by the City of Meridian for continually striving to identify opportunities to recycle and reuse materials with daily processes. This award recognizes Meridian organizations that implement waste reduction measures through recycling, reduction, reuse, and hazardous waste management.
EPA Performance Track
Micron gained membership into the National Environmental Performance Track Program for its exceptional commitment to environmental stewardship, continuous improvement, and a sustained record of compliance with environmental laws. The EPA Performance Track recognizes environmental excellence by encouraging companies, corporations and small businesses to go above and beyond the legal requirements set forth by the federal and local governments. Going beyond the minimum requirements follows Micron’s global environmental policy, which calls on the Company to implement additional programs where appropriate to provide greater environmental protection while demonstrating the responsibility all team members feel toward our local and global communities.
EPA Wastewise Program
Micron became a member of the EPA Wastewise Program which recognizes companies for their commitment in preventing waste, improving recycling efforts, conserving energy, and reducing GHG emissions.
Environmental Excellence Award
Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry selected Micron for 2008 Environmental Excellence Award. Micron was recognized for its remarkable innovation using cold river water from an existing aquifer recharge system to cool its deionized process water through a heat exchanger.

Micron’s Boise manufacturing facility earned this award for "Innovation and Commitment to Water Conservation."

American Society of Civil Engineers Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award
Micron was selected as the winner of the Southern Idaho Section award and subsequently the Regional Northwest Award Winner based on its aquifer recharge and recovery project.

Idaho Innovator of the Year Award
Micron received this award from the Idaho Business Review, a weekly business publication, for development and implementation of an aquifer recharge, storage, and recovery system using ultra filtration membrane technology.

Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry (IACI) Annual Environmental Excellence Award
Micron received this award as recognition from Idaho industries for achievement in pollution prevention, commitment to the environment, and a history of environmental leadership.
