Micron Accelerates the Mobile Computing Experience With Introduction of New Client SSD

Consumers value fast performance, quick startup, long battery life and reliability in their client computing devices. While SSDs address these needs better than power-hungry HDDS, the cost of SSDs have so far prevented their broad adoption.

The new Micron 1300 SATA SSD is one of the industry’s first 96-layer triple-level cell (TLC) 3D NAND-based SSDs. The 1300 SSD improves the mobile computing experience with consistent performance, high capacity and power efficiency — all at a more accessible price point to make the benefits of flash storage available to more users. The 1300’s familiar SATA interface also enables a graceful transition from HDDs to SSDs.

The Micron 1300 SSD is available in capacities up to 1TB (in M.2) and 2TB (in 2.5-inch). It employs important data protection features such as asynchronous power-loss protection for data at rest.

Key Benefits

  • Make Better Products With Better NAND: Increase density and capacity while controlling costs and power usage with Micron’s industry-leading 96-layer 3D TLC NAND technology.
  • Get Solid SATA Performance: Experience strong SATA performance in laptops and tablets by using the same trusted platform architecture, proven controller and firmware as our well-accepted Micron 1100 client SSD.
  • Go Mobile for Longer: Satisfy ever-increasing expectations for longer battery life with the Micron 1300’s class-leading power efficiency. Consuming less than 5mW in low-power mode, the 1300 SSD uses significantly less power than HDDs and about 20X less power in active mode.
  • Protect Your Data: Protect valuable data on the go without performance degradation with asynchronous power-loss protection for data at rest, adaptive thermal monitoring and optional Opal 2.0 self-encryption technology.
