As a signature program for the Micron Foundation, its team members from around the world get to vote on the local level to direct funds to an organization from their region. For team members across the globe, their choices range from supporting youth-focused programs to providing life-altering disease support to helping the homeless.
“The wide range of charities selected for Charity of Choice is as diverse as our many locations around the globe,” said Micron Foundation Executive Director Dee Mooney. “This year more Micron sites participated in the program than ever before, giving us the opportunity to expand our support to more of the communities we call home.”
In total, the Charity of Choice program will contribute $145,000 to 16 charities in communities where team members live and work. Launched by the Micron Foundation in 2014, the program seeks to engage team members in the grantmaking process in their local community and focus their energies on organizations that matters most to them.
The selected charity can then be the focus of the grant, volunteer activities, and additional fundraisers, allowing for a deeper impact.
